The Community Foundation is seeking letters of intent, due NEXT Friday, February 3, by 4:00pm at the HCCF office, for programs that provide services for women and children that will enable them to create Brighter Futures. Up to $10,000 is available to grant, with a minimum of a $1,000 grant. HCCF is seeking programs that demonstrate innovation and creativity and provide new solutions to unresolved needs in our community. Nonprofits are encouraged to partner to strengthen existing programs and/or new program development. In these instances, new program development is strongly encouraged. Success should be measured by the ability of program participants to receive services that provide them a picture of a better life beyond today. If you are interested in more information about the Grant Guidelines or how to apply, please contact Alyse Vail at 317-462-8870 x226 or avail@hccf.cc. The Common Scholarship Application Workbook is available at the HCCF office, each Hancock County public high school, the Hancock County Public Library, Work One, and the HCCF website, under the “Scholarships” tab in the left menu bar. Some Scholarships have separate applications with separate due dates, which are listed on the HCCF website with links to the appropriate application forms. The Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (OFBCI) is a voice for service and volunteerism in the state. Therefore, mini-grants are being offered to provide resources to coordinate Day of Service projects. The goal of this Mini-Grant program is to demonstrate the power of service as a solution to community needs. OFBCI encourages Day of Service projects that (1) demonstrate community connections and use of local resources, (2) build capacity of local national service programs through regional networking and co-planning of activities, and (3) increase member and volunteer understanding and commitment to national service and volunteerism.
