HCCF Presents Spirit of Community Funds!

The Community Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of a "package" of new endowment funds that will provide the means for caring citizens to invigorate Hancock County for generations to come! Those who love this county and want to see it prosper well into the future will find there is a fund that fits their area of passion. Gifts made to the Spirit of Community Funds will be pooled together to create income that will be distributed in the form of grants. These grants will address the community's most pressing needs today and tomorrow.

Your gift to the Spirit of Community Fund of your choice may make you eligible to receive a free Hancock County flag. See below for details.

Hancock County Enrichment Fund - This comprehensive, unrestricted fund addresses a broad range of needs, including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time your gift is made. The Enrichment Fund helps support long-term solutions; respond quickly to emergencies; and meet changing social, cultural, educational, and environmental needs in our local community.

Agricultural Heritage Fund - Grants made from this fund will help support and sustain the spirit and rich history of our agricultural heritage by supporting activities associated with agriculture education, youth organizations and other related agriculture programs.

Arts and Culture Fund - Grants from this fund will be used to strengthen and enrich the growth in the areas of Performing, Visual, and Oratorical Arts in our community.

Clean and Green Fund - Grants will provide support for conserving and protecting Hancock County's natural environment through recycling, clean energy, and green initiatives.

Community Vitality Fund - Grants made from this fund will support initiatives and projects that will enhance the desire to live, work and play in Hancock County such as accessible parks, recreation opportunities, transportation, public safety and emergency response.

Humanitarian Fund - Humanitarian Fund grants will support programs that promote and maintain physical and mental health, rehabilitative services, and crisis intervention. It will also promote housing and shelter services, services supporting the elderly, youth, families, and people with disabilities, economically disadvantaged, minorities and other special groups.

Lifelong Learning Fund - Grants will help ensure the future prosperity of our community by preparing our children to learn, developing them throughout their school years, and continuing to provide opportunities for growth as adults.

Strong Families & Youth Fund - Grants made will help support programs that proactively strengthen and grow our youth and encourage the betterment of our families.
