Women's Fund of Hancock County The Women's Fund of Hancock County inspires women and girls to unite through charitable giving for the purpose of addressing needs and issues affecting women and families in our community. What is the Women's Fund of Hancock County? The Women's Fund is a vehicle driven by a circle of women and girls committed to strengthening Hancock County communities. Our members are women and girls who believe that high-priority issues should be addressed thoughtfully to inspire social change and improve our quality of life for generations to come. Knowing that combined efforts have greater impact, dedicated members pool their resources into the Women's Fund of Hancock County held at the Hancock County Community Foundation. A portion of each gift is permanently endowed, ensuring resources and creating a legacy for the future; and a portion is used annually for grants to address community needs and issues that are important to Hancock County women and girls. Who can become a member of the Women's Fund of Hancock County? You can! Any woman or girl over the age of 16 who supports the mission of the Women's Fund and makes an annual financial commitment at any level qualifies as a member. Girls between the ages of 10 and 16 may be sponsored by a female adult member. Membership is a one year term. Rewards of membership include:
What is the group's membership commitment? Women and girls from across the county make an annual financial commitment to the fund in any amount meaningful to them. Each tax-deductible gift is divided equally between the Women's Endowment Fund and the Women's Annual Grant Fund. The impact of your contribution is immediate: if, for example, the Women's Fund receives $1,000 in combined donations, $500 may be granted for projects and $500 will be placed in the endowment fund, allowing you to help create a legacy of solutions! How will the grants be chosen? Each year, members will be presented with a range of local issues and programs addressing those issues. Focus areas may include education, childcare, family support programs, women's and/or children's health, the arts, or other issues of community interest important to women and girls. The Hancock County Community Foundation will solicit grant applications from charitable organizations, and the Women's Fund Grants Committee will present qualified applicants to the entire membership. A special annual event will be held for presentation of the applicants and the voting process. Each member has one vote, regardless of membership commitment level. Your voice counts in the grant awards! How can I become a member? Membership is easy! A membership enrollment form is available by clicking here! Simply complete the form and mail it in with your contribution. Or, to complete your membership online, visit our "Donate Now" page and select "Women's Fund of Hancock County" from the drop-down list, then enter your gift amount. Questions?
